Your Child Isn't "Too Young" to Need Support

Kids don't always have the words for what they're going through. That doesn't mean they aren't going through something real.

Frequent meltdowns, tantrums, or emotional outbursts that feel out of proportion

Clinginess, separation anxiety, or fear of new situations

Changes in sleep, appetite, or school performance

Withdrawal from friends, family, or activities they used to love

Big, unexplained feelings — sadness, anger, worry — that come and go

None of this means something is "wrong" with your child. It often means they're carrying something they don't know how to put down. Therapy gives them a place to do that — safely, at their own pace.

How Child Therapy Can Help

Child therapy isn't about getting kids to behave. It's about helping them understand what's happening inside — so they can move through it instead of around it.

We may work on:

Identifying and naming emotions in age-appropriate ways

Building confidence and a healthier sense of self

Processing difficult experiences (divorce, loss, school stress)

Developing coping tools for anxiety and big feelings

Strengthening communication between your child and your family

The goal isn't a "perfect" child. It's a child who feels more settled, more understood, and more like themselves.

who is this for

Child Therapy May Be a Good Fit If Your Child Is:

Ages 4–12 and struggling with anxiety, worry, or fear

Going through a big change — a move, a new school, a family transition

Showing behavioral changes that don't have an obvious explanation

Having a hard time at school, with friendships, or at home

In need of a space that feels safe, low-pressure, and genuinely fun

You don't need to wait for a crisis. Many parents reach out when they notice something feels "off" — and that instinct is worth listening to.

Child Therapy in Massachusetts
(In Person)

In-person child therapy sessions are held at our Concord, MA office. Being in a physical space with art supplies, games, and room to move is especially important for younger children, who often communicate best when they're doing something with their hands.

my approach

A Compassionate, Child-Led Approach to Therapy

My approach to child therapy is warm, playful, and always child-led. I don't believe in forcing conversations or following a rigid script.

Therapy is a space to:

Play — because play is how children process and make sense of their world

Feel heard without having to have the "right" words

Learn tools for managing big emotions

Build trust at their own pace

Child Therapy FAQs

Is child therapy different from adult therapy?

Yes — significantly. With younger children especially, much of the work happens through play, art, and movement rather than talk. Children don't need to articulate what's wrong to benefit from therapy.

Do you offer in-person child therapy in Massachusetts?

Yes. All sessions are held in-person at my Concord, MA office.

How long does child therapy take?

It varies by child and what we're working on. Some kids make meaningful progress in a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. I'll always be transparent about where we are.

What if my child doesn't want to talk?

That's completely fine — and honestly, very common. We don't need to talk. Play therapy is designed for exactly this. We'll meet your child where they are.
